I recently went to Torshov bilrekvisita and purchased some color spray for my roll cage and a damage the car had when I purchased it. Additionally I got myself a new start button which will replace the normal car key.

Will post photos of the progress as I paint the roll cage and the work I’m doing on the damage.

The new roll cage is nearly complete and I will pickup my RX-7 on Tuesday. Enjoy some photos taken with a mobile phone, I will publish some high quality photos when the car is back in the garage.

Today I purchased a new car, Land Rover Freelander!

2000 model, 1.8 liter, manual transmission, 4WD. I will be using this car for transporting my Mazda RX-7 around on events. I’m looking for trailer that I can use to transport the car, if you have a cheap one available, please send me a mail. It will be possible for sponsors to get their logo on here as well.

Today I shipped my car to a friend which will build a complete roll cage for it. That’s important for safety, as well as a requirement for competing in drifting series of the Norwegian Motorsport Association.

Part of the process to upgrade my car I wanted to build a custom dashboard. Instead of mocking around customizing the existing one, I’ve decided to go with a carbon-dash. It will be built with one or two big carbon-plates on which I will arrange all my gauges and switches.

Pretty easy job to disconnect the wiring harness from the dash, after that I went a head and disassembled the gauges and switches from the other parts connected to the dash.

Speedometer, rev counter, temp, gas, etc. was removed from the dashboard plastic. Not sure if I’m willing to further modify this assembly, will probably just fit it onto my new dashboard like it is.

Wires, switches, dimmers … they will all have a new life soon :-)

When the disassembly was complete, I tried to see how the crossbar looked back on the car. I have to make sure that the new roll-cage doesn’t create problems fitting it back on.

I decided it was time to move on and purchased a new Mazda RX-7 FD, which I’m building for the SemiPRO series next year. Instead of continue with the old (red) car which has license plates, I decided to import another one from UK.

With this car I can do some more dramatic upgrades which is required for the SemiPRO/PRO series.

I attended the PowerDrift race in Kristiansand this weekend and came in on a 12th place in the Club-series. Pretty satisfied with that and the car worked excellent as always. It’s not completely rigged for drifting yet, but it’s improving.

Had a little trip outside the track and it took the rescue crew a while to clean up after me.

Gatebil Festival Våler is over for this season, the car worked well, though I need a new exhaust and brake disk. More videos will come, this video shows onboard when I’m drifting on the track.

Tomorrow it starts at Vålerbanen, it’s this years first Gatebil Festival! This will be 3 packed days of a lot of fun, with street cars, race cars, drift cars and extreme-cars with more than thousand horse power!

FDBoy is of course there and planning on getting as much track time as possible. Before leaving, I did a quick service on the car: new tires, updated the ECU map, changed spark plugs, oil, oil-filter, brake pads, brake fluid, coolant and a brand new radiator!

1st of May the Nissan 200SX Owners Group Norway arranged an event at Rudskogen Raceway. I was of course there with my Mazda RX-7, driving sideways and I was coincidently filmed by a Toyota Supra that was behind me for a while. Check it out!

Recently purchased a Sparco driving suite, shoes and gloves. Protection is important when you’re driving on the track. Manipulated the photo and put a big FDBoy.com logo on it, hopefully it will have some sponsor-logos eventually.
